The Triad Local School District Board of Education announces a recent change in Board membership. Mr. Randy Moore stepped down from the Board in early March due to personal reasons. The Board extends its sincere gratitude to Mr. Moore for his 21 years of dedicated service to the Triad community. His leadership and commitment have made a lasting impact on the district.

The Board has appointed Mr. Chris Instine to fill the vacant seat and proudly welcomes him to the Triad Board of Education. Mr. Instine joins the Triad Board of Education as a proud Triad graduate with deep roots in the community. Over the years, Mr. Instine has remained actively involved in the school community by coaching, volunteering, and serving on several school committees. In addition to his involvement with the district, Mr. Instine brings over 25 years of professional experience in customer service, sales, management, and information technology. Through this diverse background, he hopes to offer a unique perspective and a wide range of experience to the Board of Education. Triad is excited to welcome Mr. Instine to the Board of Education, and looks forward to his service and commitment to the district and its students.

In addition, the Board of Education is pleased to announce plans to construct a new district office building as part of the district’s long-term strategic plan.

Triad Local Schools has followed a 7-year facilities and improvement plan that prioritizes the district’s most pressing needs. Each year, the Board has systematically addressed those priorities to ensure continued growth and responsible use of resources. Over that time, the district has received many grants and has successfully completed a number of major projects, including improvements to:

*Athletic facilities and upgrades

*Academic curriculum and instructional spaces

*Transportation equipment and facilities

*Water systems and infrastructure

*Roofing across district buildings

*District painting and flooring

*FFA barn, classroom and lecture space

*and additional district improvements

The district office building has remained on this priority list for almost 7 years and is now a key area of focus. The need for a new district office building is driven by several critical factors. Currently, approximately half of the existing district office is housed in a modular structure that has far exceeded its life expectancy. Ongoing issues with the structure can no longer be effectively resolved, making replacement necessary.

The Board carefully evaluated multiple options before determining that constructing a new district office building is the most responsible and sustainable solution. This decision also creates an opportunity for the remaining portion of the current district office space to be repurposed for Community Health & Wellness, which has secured a $500,000 grant for renovations. This partnership will increase access to important healthcare and behavioral health resources not only to Triad students and staff, but to the community as well. By bringing additional health services closer to students, the district aims to reduce barriers such as transportation and scheduling challenges that families in rural communities often face. This partnership will help ensure that students have access to the support they need to stay healthy, attend school regularly, and succeed academically at no cost to the district.

Additionally, the district office houses the technology infrastructure that supports the entire district. As part of the new building, upgraded technology systems will be implemented to improve reliability and reduce outages caused by storms and lightning. The district has secured E-Rate funding to offset nearly $100,000.00 of these technology improvement costs.

The new district office building will serve as the face of the district, providing a centralized location for:

  • Student enrollment services
  • Human Resources for new and current employees
  • Office space to accommodate approximately 14 district staff members, including 6 administrative offices and 8 support staff offices.

This project reflects our continued commitment to long-term planning, fiscal responsibility, and ensuring our facilities meet the needs of our students, staff, and community.
