Dear Triad Elementary Parents and Guardians,

I hope this message finds all of you healthy and enjoying (as much as possible!) spring break.  I do need to interrupt your break to ask some very important questions as we prepare educational experiences for our students after spring break ends.  Please know that our staff is taking spring break this week along with your students, but we will be available to answer your questions upon our return next week.  While staff may/may not be in the building Monday and Tuesday of next week (March 23rd and 24th), please do not hesitate to email or call your child/ren’s teachers with any questions starting next week.

Below you will find a list of questions to which we need answers to know how to prepare for your students.  Answers to these questions need to be completed no later than Friday, March 20th by 10:00 a.m.  This will allow me to get the needed answers to staff so adequate preparations can be made before student lessons are to begin on March 30th.  If needed, paper packets/materials will be available for pick up in the elementary library during the following times listed below. If you have medicine in the clinic that you will need prior to April 6, the current projected date of our return to school, you may also pick this up during the times listed below.  If the governor does close our schools for the remainder of the school year, more times will be scheduled allowing students to retrieve any personal items from their lockers and classrooms.

Triad Elementary School Dates for Pick Up of Materials:

Wednesday, March 25 from 9:00 a.m. - Noon,

Thursday, March 26 from 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m., and

Friday, March 27th from 9:00 a.m. - Noon

Location:  Elementary Library

The questions to which we need answers are:

Does your child have…….

1)  Access to the internet?  Yes/No

2)  Access to hardware (tablet, laptop, PC, phone ‘large enough’ to allow access to and

work on educational sites)?  Yes/No

3)  Access to a webcam (if K/1 student)?  Yes/No

Parents, please also provide the following information…...

4)  Number of students in your home or the home of your childcare provider who will

need to be able to access the internet?  Provide number of students:

5)  If you have multiple children needing access to the internet, do you have enough

hardware (i.e. computer, etc…..) to accommodate each child’s learning?  *In some cases, students within the home are able to work at different times, using the same hardware. Yes/No

6)  Are you able to access iReady from home?  Yes/No

7)  Do you have your student’s email and student i.d. and/or badge to complete access to iReady?

*If you have tried to access iReady in the past and were unable to do so, please try again using the information below before answering this question!  If you are able to get to the ‘log in with google’ page, but you do not have your student’s email and student i.d. # or a badge (for a K or 1st grade student), you ARE able to access iReady.  So, to this question, answer yes. If you do not have the necessary student information (email and student i.d.) or badge, be sure your student does not have this information. If he/she does not have this information, please answer ‘no’ to the question asking if your student has access to his/her log in information and/or badge to access iReady.

8)  Please provide the best phone number by which we can contact you if needed.

These questions have been added to a Google form.  Please fill out this form for each elementary-age child in your family (link provided below).  You will also be able to access this form from an email sent by me to the most recent email address provided to the school as of Friday, March 13th.  This letter and a link to the google form will also be accessible from our District’s website: triadk12.org If you cannot access the form, feel free to answer the questions via email.  If email is not an option, please call the elementary office at (937) 826-3102, ext 4003, leaving a message to answer the questions needed. Please only call to give these answers if you cannot access the google form and/or reply via an email.

Thank you for your patience in reading all this information and for your assistance.  It will be so helpful to us as we work to create meaningful activities for your children.

Please continue reading for detailed instructions on how to access iReady from your home!

Accessing iReady:

1)  Put   clever.com/in/triad   in your address bar.  Hit enter. You should then see this on your screen:

2)  If your child is in 2nd-4th grade, click on "Log in with Google".  If your child is in kindergarten or first grade and you have access to his/her badge and a webcam, click on the "Clever Badge log in" to the right.

If you clicked on “Log in with Google,” you will see a variety of things. Below is an example:

If your student has logged into his/her school google account from home, the screen will have his/her name and google account ready to select.  If he/she has not, click on ‘add an account’ at the bottom of the page. Here is where you will need your student’s school email and student i.d. Number OR badge (if a kindergarten or first grade student).  Once you have your student’s google account added, select on that account.

3)  Once your have selected the account or shown the webcam the badge, you should see a screen that looks like this:

4)  Click on the iReady icon

You will then see (e sure that the Instruction bubble is selected):

7)  Click on either Reading or Math, depending upon which lessons your student is ready to do!

If your student is in 2nd-4th grade, they have logged in like this and will not be confused by this process.  If your student is in kindergarten or first grade, they have not logged in without a badge. This badge is like a QR code; it shortens the login process for our younger students.  If the computer to which your student will have access has a webcam, we will be able to provide a badge to you. If not, you will need to use your student’s email address and student i.d. to log in as described above.  All student emails have the following formula:

Using my name and my graduation year (yikes!) as an example,

Every student has an email account, and every student has a student i.d.  The student i.d. is the five digit number you use for your child’s lunch account.  If you do not have this number, we can provide this to you.
