Empowering Teaching and Learning

Triad's Curriculum Department supports high-quality teaching and learning across the district by providing leadership, resources, and guidance for curriculum, instruction, assessment, and professional learning. Our work is focused on ensuring students have meaningful, rigorous, and engaging learning experiences that prepare them for success in school and beyond. By collaborating with educators and using current research and best practices, we continually work to strengthen instruction and support achievement for all learners.

Gifted and Talented Education

The state of Ohio defines a gifted student as one who “performs or shows potential for performing at remarkably high levels of accomplishment when compared to others of their age, experience, or environment. A student may be referred by themselves, parents, peers, or teachers. Please click the link to the right to refer a student you feel should be assessed for qualification into the gifted and talented program. This window will be open for the month of January. 

Talented and Gifted Program (TAG)

Triad is working hard to meet the needs of all of our learners and there are exciting changes for our gifted education program for the 2026-2027 school year! Be on the lookout for a parent information night in August to hear all about it and an opportunity to ask any questions you may have. 

• We are now assessing for Math and Language Arts in ALL grade levels between grades 2 and 8 twice per year! 
• Students in grades 2 and 5 will be assessed for superior cognition as well. 
• We will now be assessing all eligible students for creative thinking. 
• We will now have two well-advertised referral windows in which any student can be referred for gifted testing. A student may be referred by themselves, parents, peers, or teachers. 
• This is possibly the most exciting piece! All language arts and math teachers in grades 4-12 (as well as a few others!) will receive 15 hours of training per year specifically on gifted students: their characteristics, their social/emotional needs, and how to best differentiate for them in the classroom, among other topics!! 
• For students who will be served this year, we have revamped how we are writing our students' Written Education Plans (WEPs), which will now more accurately be referred to as your student's Personalized Learning Plan.
