AUGUST 1ST
Coaches,
August 1st is going to be a full day, I wanted to get this out to you early so that you will be prepared. This is a working document and very likely to change. I am also preparing a contingency plan in case of weather.
11-1: HR Imaging/Alise Stapleton will be here to take team and individual pictures/senior pictures. I have not yet received the itinerary from HR. I will update this doc as soon as I do.
6-730: Fall parent meeting at 6 in the cafeteria. All athletes must have at least one parent present. Mercedes and I will be giving our presentation first. From there families will splinter off into sub groups depending on sport. Head coaches will lead these meetings.
Room assignments for individual sports meetings: (Subject to change) (Please let me know if a change needs to be made)
Band- Band Room (Music Room)
HS Football- Cafeteria
MS Football-Cafeteria
HS Volleyball- Swary’s classroom (#6)
MS Volleyball- Library
Golf (Boys/Girls)- FFA Room
Cross Country- Wrestling Room
Cheer HS/MS- Gym
Meeting Expectations/Materials that need to be handed out at team meeting:
-Practice/game schedule
-Coach contact info
-Team goals/ Player expectations
-Missed practice/ Insubordination policy
-Any details on player expectations beyond games/practices (fundraisers, community outreach, etc…) (Example, I am asking that football players sign up to attend youth league home games).
7:30-8:30: Meet the team (HS on field only, MS encouraged to attend in stands)
Order of events:
Athlete expectations: To be present and in-game uniform (jersey and jeans/khakis) (No mixed jerseys, all players on the same team need to wear the same jerseys). All athletes will be on the field with their head coach.
1. Athletic Director short intro (discuss excitement about our teams, coaches and upcoming season).
2. Coach speech (discussing your upcoming season/ your athletes). All athletes in attendance should join the coach on the field and be introduced.
Order:
-Boys/Girls Golf
-Cross Country (Co-ed)
-Volleyball
-Band
-Cheer
-Football (At this point Dylan will hand the microphone back to Beth)
3. Cheer performs a dance/ routine/ lead the crowd in a cheer tutorial
4. Band performs the fight song
5. Athletic Director opens the field for family pictures
