April 3, 2019
This letter is to inform you that Triad High School will be administering the seven end of course exams, as required by state law, during the months of April and May. We will be administering the following end of course exams: English 9 and English 10 on April 11th and 12th; American History and American Government on April 23rd and April 24th; Algebra I and Geometry on April 30th and May 1st and Biology on May 2nd and May 3rd. All seven of these exams have two parts, which is why there are two dates for each exam.
One of the three pathways a student can use to earn their high school diploma is to earn 18 points on these seven end of course exams. They need a minimum of 4 points in math (Algebra I and Geometry combined); a minimum of 4 points in English (English 9 and English 10 combined) and a minimum of 6 points in science and social studies (Biology, American History, and American Government combined).
In order to provide a small group testing atmosphere, we will be utilizing most of the high school teachers to administer the end of course exams on the dates listed above. As a result, Triad High School will be operating on a two-hour delay on April 11th, 12th, 23rd, 24th, and the 30th as well as May 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. Those students who are testing will report to the school at the NORMAL time for state testing. Also, those students who need to ride a bus for transportation will report at NORMAL time and will be in the auditeria for study hall until classes start at 9:20. IF your student is NOT testing on the dates listed above and have their own transportation to school, they may report between 9:10 and 9:20 on the two hour delay days. Please remember that the buses will be operating on their NORMAL schedule….they will NOT be operating on a two-hour delay schedule.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the high school office at 937-826-3771.
